I wake in the morning, full of anticipation
I want five more minutes in bed
When you’re there
I love people
I can spend hours alone
Scanning articles, taking long walks or sitting in a shop, watching the world spin
Nature is my sanctuary
Fresh air filling lungs
Sunbeams warming skin
Body twisting to the music in my ears
Feet hitting pavement as I race the setting sun
Deep breaths
Sweet words
Your skin on my skin
I am flawed
Insecurities peppering my mind
Past relationships showing up to taint the beautiful, brave space we created
You tell me to take deep breaths
That it will be okay
To remember that nothing is forever
I remember that nothing is forever
Even your love.
