Apocalyptic Bugs

If the world ends
Where do all of the bugs go?
I’m worried about the people, of course…
But what about the bugs?

I found a ladybug in my apartment
And I put her on a plant
Because it was cold outside.
The next day,
I couldn’t find her.
I hope she didn’t die.
I would never forgive myself
For killing an innocent bug. 

Bugs eat other bugs
And soil
And plants.
I suppose they could survive for quite some time
If the world ends.

Bugs have smaller bodies
And need less food and water
I suppose they could survive longer than people
If the world ends.

People might eat the bugs
But how much could a bug satiate our ravenous appetites once we run out of food?
We should let the bugs live.

I, for one, am not going to eat a ladybug.
They’re good luck so eating one would basically be a death sentence
If the world ends.
